Overview:
The Senior Software Development Engineer L4 is expected to successfully work through complex tasks independently, understand the intricacies of the software development life cycle, and display strong adherence to fundamental software engineering principles in the production of software. This position possesses a deep understanding of the computer’s architectural design and other issues like testing and scalability of software products.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with global, cross-functional teams to design, build, and operate innovative platforms ensuring quality across the SDLC.
- Analyze complex functional and non-functional requirements (FR/NFR) and define comprehensive test strategies, plans, and objectives.
- Develop and maintain manual and automated test cases for web, API, and backend systems using tools like Selenium and Playwright.
- Perform end-to-end testing including Functional, Regression, Integration, System, UAT, and ensure data validation across SQL/Snowflake databases and stored procedures.
- Implement automation frameworks and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines to improve efficiency and coverage
- Conduct API testing and performance/load testing using JMeter, analyzing results to optimize system scalability and stability.
- Test applications deployed on AWS/Azure environments, validating compatibility, scalability, and security in cloud-based architectures.
- Identify, document, and track defects using tools like Azure DevOps, and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.
- Ensure compliance with QA standards, best practices, and security guidelines, maintaining clear documentation and reporting on test coverage and results.
- Mentor junior QA engineers, enforce best practices, and contribute to process improvements and test automation strategies.
- Troubleshoot complex system-level issues, drive root cause analysis, and recommend solutions for performance and reliability.
- Stay current with emerging QA tools, technologies, and methodologies, applying Agile principles to deliver continuous value and scalability.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 6–10 years of hands-on experience in Software Quality Assurance (QA) for enterprise-level applications.
- Strong proficiency in Selenium and Playwright for automated UI and functional testing.
- Ability to implement automated UI and API tests and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
- Deep experience in API testing using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
- Solid experience testing Angular and Aurelia applications
- Advanced knowledge of SQL, Snowflake, and stored procedures.
- Ability to validate data integrity and execute complex queries for backend testing.
- Hands-on experience testing applications deployed on AWS and Azure environments.
- Proficiency in JMeter for performance and load testing, including analysis and optimization.
- Ability to analyze complex functional and non-functional requirements (FR/NFR).
- Define comprehensive test strategies, develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and automation scripts.
- Expertise in Functional, Regression, Integration, System, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Strong ability to work closely with developers, product managers, and business analysts to ensure quality throughout the SDLC.
- Proven experience mentoring junior QA engineers and enforcing best practices.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools, Agile methodologies, and QA best practices.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Sedentary work (i.e. sitting for long periods of time).
- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force.
- Subject to inside environmental conditions.
- Travel for this position will include less than 10% locally usually for training purposes.
