Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
4+ years of professional experience designing, developing, and shipping software.
1+ years experience of building distributed systems and/or cloud platform services.
Competent debugging and problem-solving skills for complex, production-grade systems.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science OR related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, OR Python
OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 7+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
1+ years experience with Azure services, especially in IaaS and hybrid cloud scenarios.
Exposure to virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Publications and/or certifications related to cloud technologies.
1+ years experience mentoring junior engineers or leading small project teams.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather and refine technical requirements.
Own end-to-end feature development—from design and architecture to implementation and deployment.
Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code for products, services, or features.
Break down complex work items into smaller, manageable tasks and provide accurate estimations.
Design and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure high-quality deliverables. Build services that are secure, reliable, highly available, and fault-tolerant.
Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reduce human error.
Participate in on-call rotations to support live services, mitigate incidents, and restore availability using software-driven tools. Troubleshoot and resolve live site issues with minimal customer impact.
