Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Platform - Finance Engineering)

.We are seeking an experienced backend engineer to join a high-performing team focused on building the next generation of financial platform services. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable backend systems that support real-time financial operations and reporting. You will tackle complex technical challenges at the intersection of blockchain and traditional finance, working on high-frequency, low-latency applications in cloud-based environments. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and senior leadership to translate ambitious product and business goals into actionable engineering solutions. You will also help drive automation, optimize processes, and contribute to maintaining the integrity and audit-readiness of financial systems. Accountabilities
- Build and maintain backend services to meet critical product and business requirements using modern technologies such as Golang.
- Design scalable and resilient systems that handle large-scale financial transactions and real-time data processing.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to translate technical vision into concrete deliverables each quarter.
- Ensure high-quality, well-tested code and contribute to debugging complex technical issues across the platform.
- Review feature designs and contribute to architectural decisions to maintain security, operational integrity, and system clarity.
- Streamline financial workflows including reconciliation, treasury, and accounting processes through automation and process improvements.
- Mentor team members and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering standards and practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably with backend or financial platform systems.
- Strong expertise in designing, building, and scaling production services within service-oriented architectures.
- Proficiency in Golang; experience with Docker, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB is a plus.
- Knowledge of blockchain technologies (Bitcoin, Ethereum) is desirable but not required.
- Strong understanding of cloud-based infrastructure, distributed systems, and web-scale application design.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex, high-frequency systems.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
- Passion for building an open, accessible financial system and a bias toward continuous learning.
