Job Description

Core purpose

The role focuses on end‑to‑end delivery of capital and O&M projects related to water supply systems such as intake structures, transmission mains, treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs, and distribution networks. The manager coordinates multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, government agencies.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and manage the full project lifecycle: feasibility studies, DPRs, detailed design coordination, approvals, tendering, contract award, construction supervision, testing, commissioning, and handover.
  • Control scope, schedule, budget, and risks; prepare and monitor project work plans, cash flow, and risk registers, and implement mitigation measures.
  • Lead and supervise internal teams and external consultants/contractors, allocating tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring adherence to design standards, specifications, and quality, safety, and environmental norms.
  • Administer contracts, including change orders/variations, claims, dispute resolution, and ensuring contractual compliance and proper documentation.
  • Procurement processes: preparation of tender documents, bid evaluations, recommendations, and ensuring compliance with organisational, government requirements.
  • Coordinate statutory approvals, permits, and clearances with relevant authorities and ensure compliance with water, environmental, and public health regulations.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement with local bodies, communities, utilities, donors, and government departments, including periodic progress reporting and presentations.skills.
  • Monitor project safeguards and governance controls (e.g., environmental, social, health and safety) and ensure implementation of mitigation and monitoring plans.
  • Support operations teams by ensuring operability and maintainability are built into designs, and provide technical guidance during early years of scheme operation
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and lessons‑learned capture across projects, and contribute to master plans and long‑term asset planning for the water sector.

Typical qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, Electrical, or related engineering (master’s preferred for senior roles).
  • Around 5–10+ years of experience in project management of water supply / water & wastewater infrastructure, including design coordination, construction management, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Strong knowledge of water supply systems, relevant codes and standards, and preferably exposure to pumping stations, treatment plants, and SCADA / automation.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage multiple concurrent projects, and communicate effectively with senior officials and external stakeholders.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
