Summary:

The Manager of the Production Department will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production activities. This includes planning, organizing, and controlling production to ensure that goods are produced efficiently, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in steel fabrication, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing a production team in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning and Management:

 Develop and implement production schedules, ensuring they align with project deadlines and customer demands.

 Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed to meet targets.

 Forecast resource requirements (manpower, machinery, raw materials) to optimize production flow.

 Coordinate with the procurement department, engineering, and quality control departments to ensure seamless project execution from start to finish.

2. Team Leadership and Development:

 Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of production supervisors, fabricators, welders, and other plant personnel.

 Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

 Identify training needs and coordinate training programs to enhance skills and knowledge within the team.

 Foster a positive and safe working environment.

3. Reporting and Communication:

 Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, efficiency, and costs to senior

management.

 Communicate production status, challenges, and successes to relevant departments and

stakeholders.

 Maintain accurate records of production activities, including work orders, quality checks, and

material usage.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

 Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering/Diploma in Mechanical.

 Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing or fabrication

environment, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.

 Proven experience in steel fabrication, including knowledge of welding, cutting, forming, and

finishing processes.

 Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).

 Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

 Proficiency in production planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.

 Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

 Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

 Commitment to safety and quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

 Experience with lean manufacturing principles (e.g., Six Sigma, 5S).
