At Ceramed Engineers, we are dedicated to enabling sustainability and empowering future progress. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role in Bangalore for a Senior Production Manager. The Senior Production Manager will oversee the planning, supervision, and execution of daily production activities, ensuring efficiency and adherence to quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities 1. Technical Interpretation & Guidance Thoroughly study and interpret complex manufacturing and assembly drawings (CAD/2D). Translate technical requirements to the fabrication team, ensuring they clearly understand dimensions, tolerances, and assembly procedures before starting work. Act as the technical authority on the floor to resolve drawing ambiguities immediately. 2. Fabrication & Machining Oversight Monitor fabricator activities closely to ensure jobs are carried out accurately and according to the schedule Apply deep knowledge of machining processes (turning, milling, grinding, etc.) to identify criticalities in jobs. Ensure that machining jobs are executed with the correct sequencing and tooling to maintain precision. 3. Quality Assurance Management Evaluate quality aspects of components and assemblies thoroughly. Supervise the Quality Control (QC) team, ensuring they are executing inspections and tests precisely as required. Take ownership of the final output quality by validating the QC team’s reports and findings. 4. Vendor Management & Negotiation Handle negotiations with machining vendors specifically regarding lead time and economic aspects (costing). Use your technical understanding of machining time and material costs to challenge vendor quotes and ensure fair pricing. Ensure vendors deliver on time without compromising on technical specifications. 5. Cross-Departmental Coordination Act as the bridge between the shop floor, the design department, and management. Maintain a culture of mutual respect on the shop floor, resolving technical conflicts efficiently. Ensure production blockers are communicated to the relevant departments immediately to minimize downtime. Required Skills & Qualifications Education: B.Tech/B.E. or Diploma in Mechanical/Production Engineering. Experience: Minimum 5 years, Maximum 8 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. Core Technical Skills: Expertise in reading and explaining Engineering Drawings (GD&T knowledge preferred). Strong knowledge of fabrication processes (welding, fitting, assembly). Strong understanding of machining operations and their critical quality parameters. Basic understanding of Instrumentation (sensors, gauges, and measurement tools) is required. Soft Skills: Strong negotiation skills rooted in technical knowledge. Ability to command respect on the shop floor through technical competence. Note: High-level corporate presentation or polished communication skills are not a primary requirement; functional and technical communication is the priority.
