Senior Production Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Prepare, implement, and monitor monthly, quarterly, and annual production schedules to meet organizational targets.
• Allocate resources (manpower, machines, and materials) effectively to optimize plant capacity utilization.
• Ensure on-time delivery of transformers (Power & Distribution, Dry Type, Unitised Substations) as per customer requirements.
• Oversee the end-to-end transformer manufacturing process, including winding, core assembly, tank fabrication, oil processing, assembly, testing, and finishing.
• Ensure compliance with technical specifications, industry standard and customer requirements.
• Coordinate with design, procurement, quality, and maintenance teams for seamless operations.
• Implement stringent quality control measures at every stage of production.
• Ensure adherence to ISO, BIS, and statutory safety regulations.
• Drive initiatives for reducing rework, rejection, and non-conformities in manufacturing.
• Monitor production costs, minimize wastage, and ensure optimum utilization of raw materials like copper, CRGO, and transformer oil.
• Drive productivity improvement initiatives, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement (Kaizen).
• Achieve cost reduction targets without compromising product quality.
• Lead and supervise production engineers, supervisors, and shop-floor workforce.
• Train and mentor team members on new technologies, safety practices, and process improvements.
• Foster a culture of accountability, discipline, and teamwork.
• Ensure strict compliance with workplace safety standards and statutory regulations.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance of critical machinery.
• Implement best practices for safe handling of electrical equipment, oils, and heavy machinery.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams for successful customer inspections, FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests), and third-party inspections.
• Address customer feedback and implement corrective actions for continual improvement.
• Liaise with procurement, stores, and logistics for timely availability of raw materials and dispatch planning.
• Contribute to long-term capacity expansion plans and modernization of production facilities.
• Introduce automation, digital monitoring tools, and ERP-based production tracking.

Support R&D and design teams in developing prototypes and new transformer models
