Role & responsibilities

• Excellent knowledge of transformer manufacturing processes, materials, and testing standards.
• Deep understanding of IS/IEC standards and regulatory compliance.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Expertise in root-cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement methods.
• Strong communication, customer handling, and audit negotiation skills.
• Ability to coordinate with cross-functional departmentsdesign, production, testing, and service.
• Strong documentation, process control, and quality system management.

• Lead and manage the overall

  Quality & Testing Department

  for transformer manufacturing operations.
• Develop, implement, and monitor company-wide quality & testing systems, procedures, and SOPs.
• Ensure strict adherence to quality & testing standards across all production stages:
• Core assembly
• Winding
• Assembly & tanking
• Oil filtration
• Final testing
• Oversee routine, type, and special tests as per IS/IEC standards.
• Drive reduction in defects, rework, and field failures through robust quality systems.
• Lead customer inspections, third-party inspections (TPI), and certification audits.
• Conduct root-cause analysis for non-conformances and drive corrective & preventive actions.
• Maintain and review all quality documentation, test reports, calibration logs, and audit records.
• Ensure calibration and availability of all inspection and testing equipment.
• Work closely with the Plant Head, Production, and Design teams to resolve technical/quality issues.
• Lead continual improvement initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, Lean Quality, and Process Optimization.
• Prepare monthly quality performance reports for senior management.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards and support in maintaining certifications.
• Mentor, train, and develop the QC/QA teams for skill enhancement and better performance.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong technical understanding of transformer design fundamentals, insulation systems, and loss calculations.
• Hands-on knowledge of transformer testing equipment and interpretation of test results.

Familiarity with failure analysis (electrical, thermal, mechanical) and reliability improvement methods
