Senior Production Manager

Role & responsibilities

1. Production Management

• Plan, organize, and oversee daily production operations to meet production schedules and sales forecasts.
• Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials.
• Monitor production KPIs (yield, downtime, capacity utilization) and initiate corrective actions when required.

2. Quality Assurance

• Ensure production output meets quality standards and customer specifications.
• Collaborate with the Quality Control (QC) team to address non-conformances.
• Support implementation of quality systems such as ISO, TQM, or TPM.

3. Process Optimization

• Continuously evaluate and improve production processes to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other process improvement methodologies.
• Drive automation and technology adoption for operational efficiency.

4. Manpower Management

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, supervisors, and shop-floor staff.
• Identify training needs and ensure skill development across production teams.
• Conduct performance reviews and support employee engagement initiatives.

5. Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)

• Ensure strict adherence to workplace safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Conduct safety audits and enforce use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Promote a zero-incident culture and oversee implementation of EHS programs.

6. Coordination & Reporting

• Liaise with other departments including Maintenance, Quality, R&D, Supply Chain, and Procurement.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on production performance, issues, and improvements.

Support budgeting, cost estimation, and capacity planning.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education

  : B.E./B. Tech in Chemical Engineering.

Experience

Key Skills and Competencies

• Deep knowledge of paint manufacturing processes (e.g., dispersion, milling, tinting, packaging)
• Proven experience in managing large-scale production operations
• Strong understanding of quality standards and regulatory compliance
• Leadership and team management capabilities
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in ERP systems and production planning tools
