About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Power BI Developer to design, build, and scale a unified enterprise analytics ecosystem leveraging Power BI as a strategic platform.
The ideal candidate will architect and operationalize a governed, high-performance BI environment spanning semantic modeling, CI/CD pipelines, security, automation, and AI-powered insights.

This role is central to our Enterprise Data & Analytics Modernization Initiative, driving the establishment of Power BI as the single source of truth across business domains through enterprise dataflows, reusable semantic models, and automated deployment pipelines.

Key Responsibilities1. Platform Architecture & Governance

• Architect and implement Power BI workspace and app structures ensuring secure, scalable, and organized content management across Dev, Test, and Production environments.
• Define governance frameworks for dataset certification, role-based access, and lifecycle management.
• Develop shared semantic models and datasets to promote reusability and consistency.
• Integrate Power BI with enterprise data gateways (on-prem, VNet, and cloud) ensuring encrypted, audit-ready connectivity.

2. Deployment Pipelines & CI/CD

• Design and manage Power BI Deployment Pipelines for automated content promotion (Dev → Test → Prod).
• Configure parameterized data connections for seamless environment transitions.
• Implement validation workflows and approval gates for governed releases and data accuracy assurance.

3. Data Modeling & Performance Engineering

• Lead data model design for Import, DirectQuery, Composite, and Live Connection modes.
• Optimize performance using query folding, partitioning, and computation pushdown techniques.
• Establish DAX modeling standards, calculation groups, and reusable measures for enterprise-grade analytics.

4. Security & Compliance

• Implement and manage Row-Level Security (RLS) and Object-Level Security (OLS).
• Collaborate with IT Security to enforce encryption, tenant-level governance, and activity monitoring.
• Maintain data lineage, metadata tagging, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (GDPR, SOX, etc.).

5. Automation & Integration

• Integrate Power BI with Power Apps, Power Automate, and Azure Data Factory to enable analytics-to-action workflows.
• Implement and manage dataflows for reusable, self-service data preparation.
• Automate report scheduling, delivery, and monitoring for production reliability.

6. AI & Copilot Enablement

• Leverage Power BI Copilot and natural-language Q&A features for self-service analytics.
• Enable AI-assisted visualizations, auto-report generation, and semantic search capabilities.

7. Stakeholder Leadership

• Partner with business units, data engineering, and governance teams to align data and reporting strategies.
• Mentor Power BI developers and analysts on advanced DAX, modeling, and performance tuning.
• Define KPIs to measure adoption, data trust, and platform performance.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of experience in BI/Analytics with 4+ years focused on Power BI and enterprise deployment.
• Proven expertise in:
• Power BI Service, Desktop, and Premium capacities
• Dataflows, Gateways (Enterprise/VNet/Personal), and workspace governance
• Semantic modeling (Import, DirectQuery, Composite, Live)
• DAX, performance tuning, query folding, and storage mode optimization
• CI/CD via Deployment Pipelines and parameterized environments
• RLS, OLS, and tenant-level governance and security configuration
• Integration with Azure ecosystem and Power Platform (Power Apps, Automate)
• Strong data visualization design, accessibility, and storytelling skills.
• Working knowledge of Power BI AI features (Copilot, Q&A, auto-insights).
• Familiarity with Snowflake, Synapse, Databricks, or other modern data warehouses is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate
• Experience leading BI modernization or Single Source of Truth (SSOT) initiatives
• Background in data governance, MDM, or metadata management (Atlan, Collibra, CDGC, etc.)

Job Types: Full-time, Contractual / Temporary
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: ₹150,000.00 - ₹200,000.00 per month
