Senior Platform Developer (Node.js / React / Next.js)

Our Platform Engineering Team builds modern, scalable platforms that strengthen DTDC’s logistics foundation while enabling expansion into complementary domains. About the Role

You will join the platform engineering team and contribute to our core products:

• Bazaar:

  A commerce enablement platform empowering sellers at every stage of growth—from local operations to global scale.

• Platform Play:

  A logistics orchestration hub that centralizes courier contracts, multichannel order syncing, WMS integrations, and international return workflows.

• Rapid Commerce:

  A fast-paced fulfillment solution enabling 2–4 hour, 4–8 hour, and same-day deliveries using a distributed darkstore infrastructure.

As a Senior Platform Developer, you will architect, develop, and maintain both frontend and backend components. You’ll be responsible for building performant user interfaces with NodeJS/Next.js/React.js, while also owning backend services implemented in Node.js/ Express. This hands-on role demands deep technical expertise, strong ownership of delivery, and a product-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities-

• Build and maintain responsive, high-performance user interfaces using Next.js, React.js, and TypeScript.
• Deep understanding of React hooks, context, server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), and API routes in Next.js.
• Proficiency with modern CSS methodologies (CSS Modules, Tailwind CSS, or SCSS) and experience optimizing web applications for performance, accessibility, and SEO.
• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs in Node.js (Express, NextJS, or similar frameworks).
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and ReactJS, including asynchronous programming patterns, event-driven architectures, and WebSocket implementations (Socket.IO or native WebSocket API).
• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis) and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL); ability to write efficient queries, design schemas, and handle data migrations.
• Comfortable configuring, deploying, and debugging applications in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Participate in architectural discussions, feature planning, code reviews, and agile ceremonies; write clean, modular, testable code following solid design principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical approach to debugging and optimizing complex systems.
• Deep understanding of multi-tier architecture, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
• Working knowledge of real-time location tracking, delivery routing, driver/customer workflows, and multi-vendor operations.

Qualifications-

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science Engineering, or a related field.

Required Skills- (7 to 10yrs of work experience)

• Experience in regulated industries (e.g., Logistics or Supply Chain, e-commerce) is a plus.
• Experience with POS systems, order tracking flows, and inventory management.
• Prior exposure to microservices architecture or headless commerce systems.
• Familiarity with mobile-first integrations, real-time geolocation, and driver/customer routing logic.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and mentorship skills.
• Knowledge of Docker Compose, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Familiarity with monitoring stacks (ELK, Grafana, Prometheus).
