Job Description

Job Summary:

Senior Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless, and cloud-based networks.
Lead network planning and architecture decisions to support business growth and scalability.
Monitor network performance and availability, and proactively resolve bottlenecks or outages.
Implement and maintain network security policies, firewalls, and access control mechanisms.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues and escalations.
Evaluate and integrate new networking tools, technologies, and best practices.
Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, DevOps, and cloud teams on infrastructure projects.
Maintain up-to-date network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
Conduct risk assessments and participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Expert-level knowledge of routing, switching, subnetting, VLANs, and TCP/IP protocols.
Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or equivalent network devices.
Proficiency with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios).
Strong understanding of network security principles (firewalls, IPS/IDS, VPNs, NAC).
Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid architectures.
Experience with SD-WAN, VoIP, DNS/DHCP, load balancers, and network automation tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent.
Experience with scripting or automation (Python, Ansible, Terraform).
Knowledge of ITIL practices and change management processes.
Strong project management and leadership skills.
