Role Description

Merchandiser

Key Responsibilities

• Manage

  end-to-end sampling process

  : development, fit samples, size sets, pre-production samples.
• Drive

  buyer communication

  : clarify requirements, provide updates, and ensure timely approvals.
• Prepare, update, and track

  TNA calendars

  for all orders; push cross-functional teams to stay on track.
• Collaborate with

  fabric, trims, and accessory sourcing teams

  to ensure timely availability of inputs.
• Work with

  production and quality teams

  to ensure compliance with buyer specs and AQL standards.
• Negotiate timelines, approvals, and clarify technical requirements with buyers.
• Ensure smooth

  handover from sampling to bulk production

  , minimizing delays.
• Monitor

  costing sheets, order sheets, and buyer documentation

  to maintain accuracy.
• Handle

  risk management

  by flagging potential delays or bottlenecks early.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s in Fashion Technology, Textile Engineering, Apparel Merchandising, or related field.

Experience

• 5–8 years of merchandising experience in garment manufacturing.
• Strong background in

  denim and woven garments

  (mandatory).
• Proven track record of managing international buyers and large-volume orders.

Technical Skills

• Expert knowledge of sampling process, fabric construction, washes, and trims.
• Strong command of TNA management and production coordination.
• Familiar with garment costing, tech packs, and buyer compliance requirements.
• Comfortable with ERP/MIS systems and Excel reporting.

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication and buyer-handling skills.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple orders simultaneously.
