Position Summary The Senior Merchandiser is responsible for managing and driving the end-to-end merchandising process for export garment orders. This role bridges design, sourcing, production, quality, and logistics to ensure timely delivery of high-quality fashion products that meet buyer expectations while maximizing profitability. The Senior Merchandiser acts as a key point of contact with international buyers and cross-functional internal teams. Key Responsibilities 1. Order & Account Management Manage and oversee the full lifecycle of export orders from order confirmation to shipment . Act as the primary buyer contact for order updates, clarifications, tech-packs, and commercial negotiations. Build strong relationships with existing and new international buyers. 2. Costing & Pricing Prepare detailed cost sheets , margin analysis, and pricing models based on fabric, trims, labor, and logistics. Negotiate FOB/CNF/CIF prices with buyers to ensure competitiveness and profitability. 3. Production Planning & Follow-up Coordinate with fabric and trim vendors to ensure timely availability of materials. Liaise with in-house production / manufacturing units and sub-contractors for sampling and bulk production. Track production status with clear cut-plan and delivery schedules . 4. Sample Development Work closely with Design and Product Development teams to finalize pre-production samples (PPS, Fit, and Salesman samples) that meet buyer specifications. Ensure tech-packs, size charts, and packaging details are accurate and approved. 5. Quality Assurance & Compliance Maintain quality checkpoints throughout production (inline and endline) to meet buyer requirements , AQL standards , and compliance norms. Coordinate third-party inspections (SGS/Intertek) when required. 6. Team Leadership & Coordination Mentor and guide junior merchandisers and merchandising assistants. Collaborate with design, QA, production, and finance teams to ensure business goals are met. 7. Reporting & Analytics Generate weekly/monthly production and order status reports , margin reports, and KPI dashboards for leadership. Analyze styles, buyers, and category performance to inform future sourcing and planning. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Textile/ Fashion Merchandising, Business, Apparel Manufacturing, or related field. 8+ years of experience in apparel exporting, garment merchandising, or production planning (preferably in export houses). Strong understanding of fabric/trims sourcing, costing, and garment production process . Excellent communication & negotiation skills with international buyers. Proficient in MS Excel, PLM/MRP systems , and basic export documentation. Good problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced export environment .
