Job Description

Role Summary: The Senior Manager Plant HR will be responsible for leading all human resource functions at the plant level. This includes talent acquisition, industrial relations, statutory compliance, employee engagement, HR operations, training & development, and ensuring alignment with the organization's HR policies and business objectives. Key Responsibilities: 1. HR Strategy & Operations Implement and oversee plant-specific HR strategies in alignment with corporate HR and business goals. Drive HR operations including manpower planning, recruitment, onboarding, payroll inputs, attendance, and leave management. 2. Industrial Relations & Compliance Maintain harmonious industrial relations and proactively manage union negotiations, grievances, and disciplinary processes. Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations (Factories Act, ESI, PF, etc.). Liaise with government bodies and ensure statutory returns and audits are managed effectively. 3. Talent Management Lead recruitment for blue-collar and staff roles at the plant. Identify skill gaps and work with L&D teams to implement training programs for workers and staff. Drive performance management and succession planning at the plant. 4. Employee Engagement & Welfare Design and execute engagement initiatives to build a motivated and productive workforce. Manage employee welfare schemes, grievance redressal mechanisms, and communication forums. Foster a culture of trust, safety, and inclusivity. 5. HR MIS & Analytics Maintain HR dashboards and analyze trends related to absenteeism, attrition, productivity, etc. Present reports to plant leadership and corporate HR team on key HR metrics and improvement areas. Desired Candidate Profile: Master’s degree in Human Resources / MBA (HR) / MSW from a reputed institution. 10+ years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in a Plant HR leadership role. Strong understanding of labor laws, statutory compliance, and IR best practices. Proven experience in managing blue-collar workforce and unions (where applicable). Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
