Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Design & Engineering Manager / Lead to drive the development of mechanical systems for utility-scale, commercial, and residential solar energy projects. Based in Hyderabad, this role involves structural design of mounting systems, material selection, load analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in tracker and fixed-tilt MMS, along with strong technical documentation and team leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for utility-scale, commercial and residential solar energy projects.
  • Perform structural analysis and design of solar mounting systems, including racking, foundations and tracking systems, ensuring adherence to local and international standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, civil, software) to ensure cohesive and optimized system designs.
  • Provide expertise in material selection, assessing durability and performance across diverse environmental conditions.
  • Conduct stress analysis, load calculations, and simulations (wind, seismic, snow loads) to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Execute site assessments to recommend optimal mechanical configurations based on terrain, climate, and project aesthetics.
  • Develop and manage technical documentation such as design reports, specifications, CAD drawings, and installation manuals.
  • Support technical bid preparation, cost estimation, and material selection in coordination with the procurement team.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, encouraging knowledge sharing and technical growth.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and innovative materials to enhance performance and reduce system costs.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO, ASTM, UL, IEC, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks during manufacturing and installation, resolving design or execution challenges.
  • Serve as the technical liaison with clients, contractors and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stay updated with emerging trends in solar energy technologies and mechanical engineering best practices.
  • Must have hands-on experience in both tracking systems and fixed-tilt mounting structures (MMS).
