Job Description

Experience:

10 to 12 years of experience in Direct Taxation


Education & Qualification:

• Qualified CA, LLB


Responsibilities:

Lead multiple projects through team to deliver within tight timeframe and deadline:

  • Advising clients on complex tax matters.
  • Lead tax engagements. Effectively manage team on tax filing, computations, compliances, submissions, assessment, and appeal hearings before the CIT(A), Tribunals, High Court, Supreme Court.
  • Steer Tax risk management and assurance processes and ensure strict adherence to SOPs.
  • Overseeing the resource chargeability and resource utilization effectively
  • Deal effectively with ambiguous and unstructured problems and situation


Managing Client and deliverables through quality results:

  • Act as a key client contact point for advisory and compliance queries
  • Lead fee negotiations and discussions on scope for business across clientele.
  • Provide proactive updates to clients on tax changes and rulings
  • Build the firm’s market visibility and client experience by creating & maintaining strong independent relationships with clients.
  • Build & nurture an effective working relationship with Tax authorities, business & functional heads and ensure close involvement of the local & international tax teams and external service providers.
  • Develop insight into clients’ businesses to uncover tax planning opportunities
  • Prepare technical tax memos, thought leadership articles, and client alerts


Team Management and Development:

  • Mentor, train, and upskill team members, including interns and managers
  • Act as a custodian of Quality and Delivery and as a Team mentor, ensure compliance of all aspects of direct taxation.
  • Instill a culture of excellence, ethical compliance, and client-centric service.
  • Evaluate performance of staff and ensure structured feedback.
  • Foster collaboration with internal departments and global/local tax teams


Business Development and Practice Growth:

  • Participate in new business pitches, RFP responses, and proposal writing
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities across the firm’s offerings
  • Drive visibility of the firm’s Direct Tax practice through thought leadership, newsletters, and webinars
  • Build the firm’s profile as a forward-thinking tax advisor in the market
