Senior Manager Spare Parts Planning & Warehouse Operations

Department:

Role Overview

strategic and operational leadership

Key Responsibilities

A. Strategic Spare Parts Planning & Forecasting

  • Own

    enterprise-level parts demand forecasting

    (monthly, quarterly, annual) using sales history, vehicle parc, warranty trends, and service consumption data.
  • Define and govern

    inventory strategy

    (safety stock, service levels, lifecycle-based stocking norms).
  • Partner with

    manufacturing, sourcing, and product teams

    to ensure parts readiness for new model and variant launches.
  • Lead initiatives to

    reduce slow-moving, non-moving, excess, and obsolete (SLOB) inventory

    , including liquidation and lifecycle optimization strategies.
  • Provide input for

    annual business planning (ABP)

    and parts budget forecasting.

B. Inventory & Supply Chain Governance

  • Ensure

    95%+ fill rate

    for critical and fast-moving parts across the dealer and service network.
  • Monitor and optimize

    inventory turns, stock coverage, ageing, and working capital deployment

    .
  • Establish governance for

    reorder logic, exception management, and backorder resolution

    .
  • Own

    parts master data accuracy, codification, and lifecycle controls

    within ERP/DMS platforms.

C. Warehouse & Distribution Leadership

  • Provide end-to-end leadership for

    central warehouse operations and nationwide distribution

    .
  • Drive

    warehouse design, layout optimization, binning strategy, and capacity planning

    in line with business growth.
  • Institutionalize

    safety, 5S, SOP adherence, and audit mechanisms

    .
  • Lead strategic partnerships with

    3PLs, transporters, and logistics service providers

    , including performance reviews and cost optimization.
  • Sponsor initiatives for

    automation, mechanization, and digitization

    (WMS, barcoding, RFID, real-time visibility).

D. Dealer Fulfilment & Service Excellence

  • Own

    dealer and service center parts fulfilment performance

    , including accuracy (>99%) and TAT.
  • Collaborate with

    regional aftersales, service operations, and customer experience teams

    to address escalations and critical demand.
  • Establish performance dashboards for

    dealer-wise fill rate, TAT, and satisfaction metrics

    .
  • Oversee

    new dealer onboarding strategy

    , including initial stock norms and ramp-up support.

E. Leadership, Capability Building & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead and mentor

    planning, inventory, warehouse, and logistics teams

    across functions and locations.
  • Build succession pipelines and capability frameworks for key roles.
  • Set and review

    functional KPIs

    , ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Champion

    Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma–driven improvements

    to enhance productivity, accuracy, and cost efficiency.
  • Drive cross-functional transformation projects with IT, finance, procurement, and quality teams.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Deep expertise in

    spare parts planning, inventory optimization, and warehouse operations at scale

  • Strong understanding of

    automotive / EV aftermarket supply chains

  • Advanced proficiency in

    ERP / DMS / WMS systems

    (SAP, Oracle, Zoho, or equivalent)
  • Strong

    strategic, analytical, and financial acumen

    (working capital, cost-to-serve)
  • Proven

    people leadership and stakeholder management

    capabilities
  • Ability to lead

    large teams, vendors, and cross-functional programs

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in

    Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or Commerce

  • MBA / PGDM in

    Supply Chain or Operations

    preferred
  • 10–15 years

    of experience in

    Spare Parts, Aftermarket SCM, or Warehousing

    (Auto OEM / EV preferred)
  • Proven track record managing

    central warehouse operations and pan-India distribution networks
