We are now expanding our embedded systems division and seeking an accomplished Senior Embedded Linux Build Engineer to architect and optimize our build and deployment infrastructure for Linux-based platforms. Position Overview We are looking for a highly proficient and detail-oriented professional with proven experience in Embedded Linux build systems , OS image customization , and CI/CD automation . The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of tools such as Yocto, Buildroot, Docker, CMake , and Makefiles , and will play a pivotal role in strengthening our Linux-based product delivery pipelines. This role demands an individual with strong technical acumen, structured problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach toward system performance, security, and reliability. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain robust Linux build environments using Yocto, Buildroot, and custom build systems Develop and maintain scalable and reproducible build automation scripts using Bash, Perl, or equivalent scripting languages Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of embedded OS image generation, packaging, and validation Optimize kernel performance and ensure Linux OS hardening based on deployment-specific constraints Collaborate with cross-functional teams for integration and deployment activities across various environments Implement and manage containerized environments using Docker for consistent development and deployment Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for build procedures, deployment checklists, and release notes Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance build performance, system stability, and security compliance Ensure adherence to quality, compliance, and governance standards across all build and deployment activities Mandatory Technical Skills & Competencies 7–9 years of industry experience in software build engineering, preferably in embedded Linux environments Proficiency in Yocto, Buildroot, CMake, custom Makefiles, and associated build infrastructure Strong expertise in C/C++ programming in the context of embedded systems Advanced scripting experience with Bash, Perl, or similar automation tools Deep understanding of Linux OS internals, including system administration, file system structures, and kernel tuning Experience working with Docker containers for development, testing, and deployment workflows Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems such as Git, SVN, and GitLab CI Preferred Knowledge of Linux security mechanisms, OS hardening practices, and embedded compliance standards Exposure to DevOps toolchains and agile methodologies Experience with testing frameworks and validation tools for embedded platforms Knowledge of modern configuration management tools is a plus (e.g., Ansible, Chef) Educational Qualification Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or related technical disciplines What We Offer A high-impact role in shaping the embedded systems strategy of a rapidly growing tech company Exposure to cutting-edge tools and technologies in a collaborative, innovation-focused environment Opportunities for cross-functional learning and international project experience Competitive compensation, performance-linked incentives, and learning & development programs Join us in building the future of intelligent software systems.
