About the Role

The Senior Brand Strategist is a high-level consultant, strategic developer, and commercial leader. This individual will be crucial in driving revenue growth by closing new business and upselling existing clients within the dynamic digital-first brand ecosystem. They will be the key architect of a brand's growth story, translating market insights into actionable digital strategies and ensuring their flawless execution.



Key Responsibilities:


I. Commercial & Consulting Leadership (Closing & Upselling)

Consultative Sales: Serve as the primary strategic consultant during the business development lifecycle. Lead discovery sessions with C-suite and marketing leadership to deeply understand their challenges, business objectives, and competitive landscape.

Pitch Deck Creation: Design and deliver high-impact, persuasive pitch decks and proposals that articulate a clear vision, demonstrable ROI, and a customised strategy roadmap tailored specifically for digital-first brands.

Revenue Generation: Be accountable for meeting and exceeding new business and upsell revenue targets. Identify strategic opportunities within the existing client base for expansion into new services (e.g., performance marketing, creative optimisation, platform strategy).

Negotiation & Closing: Lead the strategic and commercial negotiations to close deals, securing long-term, high-value partnerships successfully.



II. Brand Strategy & Roadmap Development

Digital-First Strategy: Develop comprehensive, data-driven brand strategies and growth roadmaps specifically designed for digital-native companies, covering areas such as customer acquisition (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), brand positioning, and platform integration.

Insight Generation: Conduct extensive market, competitor, and consumer research to uncover white-space opportunities and critical insights that inform creative and media strategy.

Measurement Frameworks: Define clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and establish measurement frameworks to track the effectiveness and business impact of all proposed brand and marketing initiatives.



III. Execution Oversight & Collaboration

Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as the strategic bridge between the client and the internal delivery teams (Creative, Media Planning, Analytics, and Account Management).

Strategy Handoff: Clearly articulate the approved strategy and client vision to the execution teams, ensuring seamless transition from proposal to project kick-off.

Oversee Execution: Provide ongoing strategic guidance and quality control throughout the execution phase, ensuring the deployed tactics remain aligned with the core brand strategy and client objectives.

Performance Review: Lead quarterly and annual business reviews, analyzing performance data and presenting strategic recommendations for optimization and future growth.



Required Qualifications & Skills

Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in Brand Strategy, Consulting, or Strategic Planning, ideally within a digital advertising agency, marketing services firm, or high-growth D2C/e-commerce brand.

Domain Expertise: Proven track record of working with and understanding the unique challenges and models of digital-first or direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands.

Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated success in a revenue-generating role, with experience closing deals valued at $X00K+. Exceptional presentation and communication skills are mandatory.

Strategic Toolset: Expertise in strategic frameworks, consumer journey mapping, segmentation, and competitive analysis. Familiarity with key digital platforms and advertising technologies is essential.

Leadership: Ability to command a room, influence stakeholders (internal and external), and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.

Pipeline Growth: Consistent generation of new business opportunities and expansion of service agreements with existing clients.

Strategic Impact: Delivery of strategies that result in measurable business outcomes for clients (e.g., significant increase in LTV, market share gains, or successful brand relaunch).

Client Satisfaction: High client retention and positive client feedback on the strategic partnership.

Internal Excellence: Efficient and effective collaboration with delivery teams, ensuring strategy is translated into successful execution.
