The role provides an opportunity to work on strategy and competitive intelligence projects leveraging strategic frameworks and the latest research methodologies to support executive leaders of the US member firm in charting the firm’s growth plan

About The Team

The US Strategy team is part of the Businesses, Global, and Strategic Services (BGS) group within Deloitte US. The team helps shape the strategic direction of Deloitte by exploring the impact of the next big client markets and guiding the development and use of market-ready solutions. It provides strategic services to analyze the competitive landscape, market trends, and growth opportunities to support the development of the internal strategy for the US firm.The team plays a crucial role in supporting the US firm leadership in charting the strategic direction, considering the emerging growth opportunities, competition, internal capabilities, and broad market trends.

You’llact as ateamplayerwithaprimaryfocusonresearchandanalysisthatfacilitatesbusinessdecision-making. As a member of US Strategy in India (USI), you would provide support by conducting market research and competitive analysis on relevant Deloitte’s businesses. The role requires the incumbent to conduct research, analyze, and prepare reports on new and existing competitor developments, technologies, disruptive innovation, and key market trends that impact the demand for professional services, and as a result, Deloitte’s businesses.Yourotherresponsibilitieswillinclude:
  • Gathering competitor data and information using internal and external research resources such asindustryjournals,analystreports,stakeholderinterviews,andinformationdatabases
  • Tracking competitor business developments such as financial reporting, leadership changes, services, and alliances introductions, strategic initiatives
  • Synthesizing and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data on the competitive landscape to draw meaningful insights
  • Applying strategy frameworks to summarize findings and build compelling narratives forseniorexecutives
  • Demonstrating ownership of workstreams and independent delivery without compromising the team’s quality guidelines and principles
  • Bringingastrategicmindsetandcriticalthinkingskillswith the abilitytoexecuteondetailswhileremainingflexibleinanevolvingandambiguousenvironment
  • Collaboratingwithteammembersonprojects
  • Reviewing own and team members work for consistency, clarity, relevance, and credibility
  • Buildingrelationshipswithonshorecolleaguesandhelpbuildconsensusandachievegoalsthrough influence

SpecificSkillsandQualifications

  • MBAormaster’sdegreefroma reputedschool
  • 3-5 years of work experience, preferably in a research and analysis role
  • Good understanding of business issues (knowledge of professional services industrywillbean addedadvantage)
  • ExperienceinsecondaryresearchandutilizingtoolsanddatabasessuchasFactiva,Hoovers,CapitalIQ,Gartner, Forrester,andothersresearchingsolutions,frameworks
  • Excellent knowledge of databases, public sources of information, and/or industry-specific sources, databases related to the professional service industry
  • Strongtechnicalskills,especiallyinPowerPoint,Excel, Word, and MS Access
  • Knowledge of analytical tools (e.g., R, Tableau) would be an added advantage
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to present complex ideas succinctly for seniorexecutives
  • HavingfluencyinspokenandwrittenEnglish,withexcellentexecutivepresencespecifictointerpersonal,communication,andpresentationskills

Our roles require us to work closely and in-tandem with global counterparts including but not limited to the Americas, EMEA, and UK/Europe. Accordingly, our work timings are designed to provide for overlapping hours with these geographies.
