Senior AI Software Engineer

Alvio Labs is an EU-based artificial intelligence company operating between London and Dublin. We are developing a next-generation AI ecosystem focused on secure conversational AI, intelligent search, workflow automation and enterprise integrations. Our mission is to become the central AI layer for professionals and businesses, enabling them to use private, compliant and high-performance AI tools across accounting, legal, finance, healthcare, operations and general enterprise needs.

We have recently raised funding and are now entering a scale-up phase. Our product suite includes Alvio Chat, Alvio Search, Alvio Agents and a growing library of integrations. These products combine AI-powered conversations, deep semantic search, automated workflows and agent-driven execution. The company is focused on building long-term defensible technology such as multi-tenant architectures, secure sandboxing for agents, real-time search indexing, high-quality AI reasoning and custom domain models tailored for industry-specific tasks.

Our platform integrates with more than 2,700 external systems. We work with large cloud providers, AI infrastructure partners and industry networks. The engineering team collaborates directly with the CEO, CTO and EU-based partners, giving every engineer exposure to high-level decisions, product direction and advanced AI architecture.

We are hiring a Senior AI Software Engineer who will take ownership of backend systems, API architecture, AI integrations and frontend implementation where required. The ideal candidate is strong in backend development, comfortable with applied AI engineering and able to work with modern frontend frameworks.

You will be part of the core engineering team building Alvio’s backend architecture, large-scale AI workflows, agent systems, indexing pipelines, authentication flows and enterprise-grade integrations. Engineers must be able to work in London timezone and thrive in a fast-moving startup environment.

Backend Engineering

• Build backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.

• Architect and maintain core APIs for chat, search, agents, workflows and enterprise features.

• Design multi-tenant systems including organizations, teams, permissions and secure workspace isolation.

• Implement authentication using Supabase Auth, JWT and OAuth2 across Google, Microsoft, Slack, Xero and QuickBooks.

• Build and maintain external API integrations and webhooks.

• Implement Redis-based caching, queues, rate limiting and session management.

• Work with PostgreSQL and Prisma ORM for data modeling and optimization.

• Contribute to cloud deployment strategy using Vercel, AWS, Railway or Fly.io.

AI and Model Integration

• Integrate LLM providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Qwen and Mistral.

• Build RAG pipelines with embeddings, vector stores and metadata search.

• Implement document ingestion, chunking, embedding generation and retrieval flows.

• Build model-driven workflows and agent tools using LangChain.

• Use the Vercel AI SDK for streaming, structured outputs and real-time responses.

• Contribute to development of domain-focused AI models for accounting, legal and enterprise use cases.

Frontend Engineering

• Build and maintain frontend components using React, Next.js, Tailwind and ShadCN UI.

• Develop chat interfaces, dashboards, search interfaces and automation UI.

• Ensure performance, responsiveness and accessibility in production environments.

System Architecture and Quality

• Participate in architectural decisions for system scalability, reliability and performance.

• Write clean, modular, well-documented code.

• Implement logging, monitoring and error tracking systems.

• Contribute to engineering standards and code review processes.

Core Technical Skills

• Strong experience with Node.js and TypeScript.

• Strong backend architecture and API development skills.

• Experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, Supabase and Prisma ORM.

• Strong understanding of React and Next.js.

• Experience with Redis, caching and queue workers.

• Experience with OAuth2, JWT and secure authentication implementations.

• Understanding of multi-tenant SaaS architectures.

• Experience with Docker, GitHub Actions and cloud deployments.

AI Engineering Skills

• Experience integrating LLMs into production systems.

• Familiarity with LangChain components and RAG pipelines.

• Experience with embedding models and vector databases such as Supabase Vector, Pinecone or Chroma.

• Experience with Vercel AI SDK or similar frameworks for streaming responses.

Additional Useful Skills

• Python with FastAPI.

• Chrome extension development.

• Experience building or integrating automation tools such as n8n, Activepieces or Zapier.

• Experience designing connectors for third-party SaaS platforms.

• Knowledge of secure sandboxing or isolated execution environments.
