Senior AI Engineer

What you’ll do

• Own design and delivery of agentic AI systems: multi-step reasoning workflows, tool-use, guardrails, and reliability.
• Architect and optimize RAG and knowledge systems (indexing strategy, re-ranking, hybrid search, evaluation loops).
• Build scalable backend services in Python and ship user-facing workflows with React when needed.
• Lead production readiness: latency, token cost, caching, fallback strategies, and incident handling.
• Deploy secure solutions on Azure using best practices (Key Vault, networking, RBAC, monitoring).
• Mentor L1 engineers/interns, conduct code reviews, and enforce engineering quality.

Must-have skills

• Strong experience in GenAI/LLM applications (multiple shipped projects).
• 3-5 years of expertise in Python backend engineering (FastAPI, async, testing, packaging).
• Hands-on with AI agents and frameworks: LangChain/LangGraph and tool calling patterns.
• Full-stack capability: can collaborate closely on React UI flows and API contracts.
• Azure experience: Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, App Services/Functions, Storage, Key Vault, monitoring.

Good-to-have

• Advanced retrieval: re-rankers, query rewriting, chunking strategies, evaluation harnesses.
• Multi-tenant architectures, cost controls, and governance (RBAC, audit logs).
• Streaming responses, real-time UX patterns, and conversation memory strategies.
• LLMOps: prompt versioning, offline evals, A/B testing, tracing (Open Telemetry).

What success looks like (first 60–90 days)

• Deliver one production-grade agent/RAG capability with SLAs (quality + latency + cost).
• Establish evaluation + observability practices for LLM outputs.
