A Day in the Life
Our Global Diabetes Capability Center in Pune is expanding to serve more people living with diabetes globally. Our state-of-the-art facility is dedicated to transforming diabetes management through innovative solutions and Technologies that reduce the burden of living with diabetes.As Senior Accountant (Regional Support Controller), you will support central audits (performed at Shared Services), drive accounting and control projects, process improvements, act as back up for country controllership, and manage centralized controllership processes, such as identifying and following up on financial risks and opportunities. You will resolve accounting issues in partnership with Financial Shared Services, Regional Controllership, and other stakeholders ensuring consistent, accurate, and compliant outcomes across the region.This role is based in Pune (India). You will collaborate closely with Legal Entity Controllers, Regional/Global Controllership, Financial Shared Services, and cross-functional partners like Procurement, Sales, and Tax to deliver timely and high-quality results. Occasional travel may be required to support audits, workshops, and key project milestones.This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Support central and regional audits, coordinating evidence, responses, and remediation plans
- Drive accounting and control related projects and continuous process improvements
- Act as back up for country controllership to ensure business continuity during peak periods or absences
- Manage, consolidate, and follow up on financial risks and opportunities (R&O)
- Solve complex accounting issues and drive root cause fixes
- Partner with Financial Shared Services to standardize, optimize, and document end to end (E2E) processes
- Maintain compliance with local statutory requirements and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Support the (SOX) internal control framework for the international region
- Support the design and implementation of SAP S/4HANA accounting and control processes in partnership with IT and process owners.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 6–8 years of experience in controllership, audit, or accounting operations within a multinational environment
- Proven project management experience leading cross-functional initiatives from design through implementation
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and familiarity with local GAAPs
- Hands-on experience supporting ERP implementations, preferably SAP S/4HANA (design, data readiness, testing, deployment, hyper care)
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with audit coordination, tax compliance, and ERP implementation will help you excel in this role but are not required.
