Senior Accountant - Chartered Accountancy Firm
Position Overview : Growventure is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our dedicated team. This role is crucial for managing key client portfolios, overseeing audit and assurance engagements, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and mentoring junior staff. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge, strong leadership abilities, and a proven track record within a Chartered Accountancy environment.
Key Responsibilities1. Assurance & Audit ManagementLead and execute statutory, internal, and tax audit engagements for a diverse range of clients (e.g., corporations, partnerships, high-net-worth individuals).
Plan, delegate, and manage fieldwork, ensuring timely completion and adherence to Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) / Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Prepare detailed audit working papers, financial statements, and reports, communicating complex audit findings clearly to partners and clients.
2. Taxation & ComplianceManage the preparation and review of direct tax (Income Tax) and indirect tax (GST) returns and filings for various entities.
Advise clients on complex tax matters, including tax planning, optimization strategies, and compliance with the latest amendments and circulars.
Represent clients during tax assessments, appeals, and scrutiny proceedings before relevant tax authorities.
Ensure timely and accurate filing of all regulatory documents (e.g., ROC filings, TDS/TCS compliance).
3. Financial Reporting & AdvisoryOversee month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing and reviewing financial statements.
Provide business advisory services, including due diligence, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of financial performance.
Assist clients with implementing effective internal controls and accounting systems.
4. Leadership & MentorshipSupervise, train, and mentor Associate Accountants and Article Trainees, providing guidance on technical issues, time management, and professional ethics.
Review the work of junior team members to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to firm standards.
Qualifications & SkillsRequired:Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
Experience: 3+ years of post-qualification experience working in a Chartered Accountancy or Auditing firm.
Technical Proficiency: Comprehensive knowledge of Ind AS, IFRS (preferred), Income Tax Act, and GST laws.
Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Tally ERP, and standard accounting/auditing software.
Preferred:Professional Qualification: CA Inter or Finalist (pursuing final certification), or an equivalent professional certification (CMA, CPA).
Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in presenting technical information to non-finance professionals.
