Job Title: Consultant/Senior Consultant

Roles and Responsibilities:


1. Design, develop, and implement robust ABAP solutions tailored to business requirements, ensuring optimal integration with SAP systems and adherence to best practices.

2. Maintain, enhance, and optimize existing ABAP applications, performing code reviews, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure seamless operation and superior performance.

3. Leverage advanced Object-Oriented Programming (OOPS) methodologies within ABAP to streamline code structure, enhance reusability, and facilitate maintenance.

4. Develop and optimize HANA ABAP programs, utilizing the in-memory capabilities of SAP HANA for highperformance data processing and real-time analytics.

5. Create, manage, and expose ODATA services for integration with SAP Fiori and external applications, ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient data communication.

6. Collaborate closely with functional consultants, business analysts, and end-users to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver high-quality solutions on schedule.

7. Document all technical developments, configurations, and changes in accordance with organizational standards to maintain transparency and facilitate future maintenance.

8. Contribute to continuous improvement by researching new SAP technologies, proposing enhancements, and participating in knowledge-sharing sessions with the team.


Required Skills Mandatory Skills :


1. CORE ABAP (4-10 years): The candidate must possess a deep understanding and hands-on experience with core ABAP programming, including classical and interactive reporting, BDCs, BAPIs, User Exits, and Enhancements. Expertise is required in modularization techniques, ALV reporting, and performance tuning. The consultant should be capable of developing scalable and maintainable code, adhering to SAP coding standards and delivering solutions that integrate seamlessly with standard SAP modules. A minimum of 4 years experience in CORE ABAP development is a must for this role.

2. OOPS (4-10 years): Strong proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming within ABAP is essential. The candidate must be adept at designing and implementing classes, interfaces, inheritance, polymorphism, and encapsulation in ABAP. Experience with OOPS concepts such as exception handling, events, and dynamic programming is vital. The ability to architect large, modular, and reusable codebases using OOPS ABAP will be a key expectation, requiring at least 4 years of practical application in enterprise projects.

3. HANAABAP (4-10 years): Advanced expertise in HANA-optimized ABAP development is required, including the use of ABAP for HANA features such as Core Data Services (CDS), AMDP, and performance optimization for in-memory databases. The consultant should have strong experience in migrating classical ABAP code to HANA, leveraging code pushdown techniques, and understanding the nuances of HANA-specific data models and database procedures. At least 4 years of experience working in HANA ABAP environments is required.

4. ODATA (4-10 years): Practical knowledge in designing, developing, and maintaining ODATA services for SAP systems is mandatory. The candidate should be skilled at exposing business logic and data via ODATA to SAP Fiori or external applications, ensuring compliance with security standards and best practices. Experience in troubleshooting ODATA services, performance optimization, and implementing CRUD operations is essential, with a minimum of 4 years hands-on experience expected.


Optional skills :


1. RICEFW objects (4-10 years): Experience with RICEFW components (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows) is highly desirable. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to design, develop, and support these objects within complex SAP implementations, ensuring alignment with project requirements and SAP standards. Familiarity with end-to-end lifecycle management of RICEFW objects, from requirements gathering to deployment and support, is preferred. At least 4 years of hands-on experience will be advantageous.

2. CDS View and AMDP (4-10 years): Proficiency in developing advanced Core Data Services (CDS) views and ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP) for SAP HANA is an added advantage. The candidate should be able to model complex data scenarios using CDS, optimize data access for analytics, and embed logic within the database using AMDP. Knowledge of annotations, authorizations, and performance considerations in CDS and AMDP is expected, with a minimum of 4 years practical exposure preferred.


Qualifications :


1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized institution.

2. 2-5 years of professional experience as an SAP ABAP Consultant, with proven expertise in all mandatory skill areas.

3. Experience working on at least one end-to-end SAP implementation or upgrade project is highly desirable.

4. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
