Contractual opportunity for 3 months
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide interim architecture leadership for the Sales team (Salesforce platform).
- Partner with Product Owner and engineering leads to translate roadmap items into scalable designs and sequence work for delivery.
- Own solution designs for Salesforce and related integrations; produce ADRs, sequence diagrams, and interface contracts.
- Guide developers on Apex/LWC/Flows patterns, code quality, and guardrails; perform architecture/design reviews and high-risk PR reviews.
- Shape integration patterns for Oracle EBS and middleware, including resiliency (retry, DLQ), idempotency, and observability.
- Align designs with our Revenue Cloud discovery effort and ensure reuse of shared services (tax, shipping, product/pricing).
- Define non-functional requirements (performance, security/sharing, data retention) and ensure they’re testable.
- Support CI/CD governance (Copado/Azure DevOps), environment strategy, and release readiness.
Required Skills
- 8+ years on Salesforce with recent architecture/tech-lead experience.
- Hands-on depth in Apex, LWC, Flows, SOQL/SOSL, platform limits, and event patterns.
- Proven integration design across REST/SOAP; experience with Azure Service Bus (pub/sub, DLQ) or equivalent message bus.
- Working knowledge of Oracle EBS data domains relevant to Sales (products, pricing, orders) and typical pricing constructs (price lists, modifiers, qualifiers, agreements).
- DevOps fluency: branching strategies, pipelines, code quality gates, test coverage, environment promotion.
- Strong stakeholder communication and backlog shaping in Agile/SAFe.
Nice to have
- Revenue Cloud/CPQ experience (quoting, approvals, quote templates, versioning).
- Exposure to Vertex (tax) and Zenkraft (shipping) integrations.
- ServiceMax awareness and prior collaboration with field service teams.
- Expected outputs in the 3-month period
- Architecture runway for top Sales roadmap items with clear dependencies.
- Integration interface specs and error-handling patterns aligned to Azure Service Bus and Oracle EBS.
- At least 4–6 Architecture Decision Records.
- CI/CD guardrails documented for the team; release checklist updated.
- Knowledge transition plan to the incoming permanent architect (if hired during/after this period).
