Relationship Manager – Retail & Corporate Insurance

Department: Sales / Business Development


Job Summary:

The Relationship Manager – Retail & Corporate Insurance is responsible for managing client relationships across both retail and corporate segments. The role involves understanding customer needs, promoting relevant insurance solutions, ensuring renewals, coordinating with insurers, and providing exceptional service. This includes handling a wide range of products such as Motor, Health, Life, Fire, Marine, Property, Liability, and Group policies.


Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship & Sales

Develop and manage relationships with individual clients and corporate accounts.

Understand client insurance requirements and recommend suitable retail and corporate insurance solutions.

Generate new business through networking, referrals, corporate visits, market outreach, and renewals.

Present product features, benefits, coverage options, exclusions, and premium structures clearly.


Product Knowledge & Coordination

Possess strong knowledge of Motor, Health, Life, Fire, Marine, Group Health, Group Personal Accident, Property, Liability, and other insurance products.

Coordinate with insurance companies and underwriters for quotations, coverage negotiations, and customized corporate proposals.

Prepare and deliver quotes, proposals, tenders, and renewal comparisons.


Policy Servicing & Support

Ensure timely renewals of both retail and corporate insurance policies.

Support clients with policy issuance, endorsements, documentation, and premium follow-ups.

Assist clients with claims intimation, follow-up, and resolution.

Maintain accurate and updated MIS reports on sales, renewals, and client interactions.


Business Development & Reporting

Identify opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling across product categories.

Conduct periodic business reviews with key corporate clients.

Monitor competitor activities and stay updated with market trends and product changes.

Achieve assigned monthly and annual business targets across retail and corporate segments.


Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of retail and corporate insurance products.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.

Ability to understand complex insurance requirements and propose customized solutions.

Strong analytical, documentation, and presentation skills.

Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, and insurer portals.

Customer-focused mindset with strong follow-up skills.

Self-driven, target-oriented, and able to manage multiple client portfolios.
