Role Overview

The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving motorcycle sales across both new and pre-owned segments, ensuring lead conversion, revenue growth, and a premium customer experience that reflects Ducati’s global standards. This role demands a dynamic leader with proven ability to close deals, manage a motivated sales team, and deliver on business targets in a high-performance luxury motorcycle environment.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Performance & Targets

  • Drive sales of new and pre-owned Ducati motorcycles to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
  • Ensure systematic follow-up and closure of all incoming leads (walk-ins, digital, referrals, events).
  • Design and implement strategies to maximise conversion rates and customer retention.


Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to consistently deliver outstanding results.
  • Monitor individual performance, provide coaching, and implement incentive programs.
  • Ensure team alignment with Ducati’s premium brand values and VFM Motors’ growth vision.


Customer Experience & Engagement

  • Guarantee world-class customer service standards in line with Ducati’s luxury positioning.
  • Build long-term client relationships, ensuring repeat purchases and referrals.
  • Handle escalations and negotiate high-value deals to successful closure.


Pre-Owned & Trade-In Business

  • Oversee the acquisition, valuation, and resale of pre-owned motorcycles.
  • Develop strong trade-in programs to encourage upgrades and increase deal flow.
  • Ensure pre-owned motorcycles are showcased and marketed effectively to maximise sales.


Business Development

  • Build corporate, institutional, and HNI networks to generate new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on events, test ride programs, and Ducati community rides.
  • Explore partnerships and innovative channels to expand market presence.


Reporting & Compliance

  • Track sales KPIs, conversion ratios, and pipeline performance; report to General Manager.
  • Ensure adherence to Ducati India’s brand guidelines and VFM Motors’ operational policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of leads, deals, and customer feedback in CRM systems.
  • Coordinate with the Ducati India team on all compliance and reporting requirements for the dealership.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5–8+ years of premium/luxury automotive or motorcycle sales experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Candidates who have not worked in the automotive industry but have exceptional Sales Managerial skills & are passionate about motorcycles can be considered as well.
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Deep understanding of premium customer expectations and luxury sales processes.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Passion for motorcycles, preferably with riding experience and knowledge of Ducati brand DNA.

  • Achievement of new and pre-owned sales targets.
  • Conversion rate of qualified leads into closed deals.
  • Growth of pre-owned/trade-in business.
  • Customer satisfaction scores and repeat business.
