Job description
Position Title: Sales Engineer
Department: Sales & Business Development
Location: Gujarat - Vadodara
Reports To: Sales Director / Sales Manager
Role Description
We are seeking a dynamic and technically proficient Sales Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth through effective customer engagement, technical consultation, and solution-based selling of our product portfolio, which includes packaging machines, vision inspection systems, track & trace solutions, barcoding equipment, industrial inkjet printers, and scanning technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
Identify and develop new business opportunities within target industries such as FMCG, pharmaceuticals, food & beverage, and manufacturing.
Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation, technical demonstration, proposal development, negotiation, to closing.
Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable solutions from our product range.
Prepare and deliver technical presentations, product demos, and solution proposals.
Technical Consultation
Act as a technical expert on all products including packaging machinery, vision systems, barcode & inkjet printing technologies, and track & trace systems.
Collaborate with the engineering and technical teams to design customized solutions based on customer needs.
Conduct site visits to evaluate customer processes and identify system integration requirements.
Customer Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key accounts and decision-makers.
Provide pre-sales and post-sales support, ensuring seamless implementation and customer satisfaction.
Address customer inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with service teams for timely resolutions.
Market Analysis & Reporting
Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive activities, and emerging customer needs.
Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance reports.
Contribute to strategic planning for expansion of market presence and new product introductions.
Qualifications & RequirementsEducation
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or related field).
Experience
2–7 years of technical sales experience, preferably in:
Packaging machines
Vision inspection systems
Coding & marking (inkjet, laser, thermal printers)
Barcode and scanning technologies
Track & trace or automation solutions
Skills
Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand complex machinery and automation systems.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to create compelling technical proposals and solution documents.
Familiarity with industrial automation, PLC systems, and integration concepts (preferred).
Self-motivated, target-driven, and capable of working independently.
Willingness to travel to customer sites, trade exhibitions, and industry events.
