Position Overview

Utkarsh Transmissions Pvt. Ltd. (UTL Couplings) is seeking an experienced Rubber Technology Specialist to lead our elastomer manufacturing operations at our Satara plant.
The role involves managing end-to-end rubber production processes — including formulation, mixing, molding, tooling development, and quality assurance — while meeting daily production targets and driving continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will provide strong technical and people leadership to a team of 10–15 production personnel.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manufacturing Operations

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the rubber mixing and molding department.
• Ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery timelines are achieved as per the production plan.
• Monitor process parameters, equipment performance, and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Coordinate with maintenance, planning, and quality teams to ensure smooth operations and minimal downtime.

2. Material & Formulation Management

• Develop, optimize, and maintain elastomer formulations including Neoprene, Nitrile, EPDM, Natural Rubber, and Polyurethane.
• Ensure consistency in physical and mechanical properties such as tensile strength, hardness, tear resistance, and durability.
• Maintain detailed formulation records, compound testing data, and material traceability documentation.

3. Tooling & Process Development

• Design, develop, and validate compression or injection molding dies and tooling for new developments.
• Work closely with design and R&D teams to translate product requirements into manufacturable die designs.
• Conduct trial runs, evaluate process parameters, and optimize cycle times for efficiency and quality.

4. Team Management & Leadership

• Lead, train, and motivate a team of approximately 10–15 operators, technicians, and supervisors.
• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to production schedules and safety standards.
• Conduct regular skill-building sessions to enhance technical knowledge and process discipline.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the department.

5. Quality & Compliance

• Implement and enforce quality control standards for raw materials, compounds, and finished parts.
• Support internal and external audits by maintaining proper documentation and traceability.
• Drive process improvements to reduce scrap, improve yield, and enhance product consistency.

6. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Collaborate with planning, procurement, maintenance, and dispatch teams to align production activities with overall manufacturing schedules.
• Communicate effectively with leadership on performance metrics, challenges, and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Rubber Technology, Polymer Science, Chemistry, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum 5–10 years in rubber compounding, molding, and process development in industrial or automotive rubber product manufacturing.
• Technical Skills:
• In-depth knowledge of rubber compounding, mixing, curing systems, and mold design.
• Hands-on experience with rubber processing machinery (kneaders, mills, presses).
• Proficiency in mechanical property testing (tensile, hardness, rebound, compression set).
• Familiarity with ISO/TS quality systems, ERP systemd, process documentation, and production reporting.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹29,600.00 - ₹51,874.59 per month
