Job Summary

Restaurant Manager

The Restaurant Manager will provide direct leadership of the front-of-house (FOH) team, including the supervision and development of the Assistant Restaurant Manager, while working in close collaboration with the Executive Chef to ensure smooth coordination with the back-of-house (BOH). While the Executive Chef manages the kitchen, the Restaurant Manager holds overall accountability for the performance, profitability, and guest experience of the restaurant. The role also involves close collaboration with both the Operations Management team and the Directors to ensure daily operational success and long-term strategic growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the front-of-house team, including direct supervision and development of the Assistant Restaurant Manager, to ensure seamless service and exceptional guest experiences.


  • Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef to maintain smooth communication and coordination between FOH and BOH.


  • Support the Executive Chef in ensuring BOH standards (food safety, hygiene, consistency, and efficiency) are met.


  • Develop, implement, and oversee a structured FOH training programme, with regular refresher sessions and evaluations to maintain service excellence.


  • Work closely with the Operations Management team and Directors, maintaining clear communication and alignment between operational performance and strategic goals.


  • Lead a monthly review meeting to present figures, review the previous month’s performance, and set measurable goals for the month ahead. These meetings should also cover staff development and training needs, guest experience and feedback, and operational challenges or opportunities identified.


  • Support the company’s growth journey as it evolves from a medium-sized operation into a larger, more structured and professional organisation. Help to implement stronger systems and policies while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.


  • Encourage and guide the team to higher levels of professionalism by setting clear targets, identifying training needs, and motivating staff through coaching and positive leadership.


  • Monitor and manage budgets, revenue, and expenses to ensure profitability.


  • Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally and efficiently.


  • Assist with menu planning and execution by aligning service flow with kitchen output.


  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations across FOH and BOH.


  • Collaborate with the social media and marketing team to create promotions that drive growth.


  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager in a high-end restaurant or luxury hotel.


  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising assistant managers or supervisors.


  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.


  • Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and drive profitability.


  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.


  • Proven ability to

    work effectively under pressure

    during peak service hours while maintaining composure, clear communication, and service standards.


  • Proficiency in restaurant software systems (reservations, POS, inventory).


  • In-depth knowledge of F&B service standards and industry trends.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management (preferred) or equivalent experience.


  • A minimum three-year commitment is required.
