Job Description

A Placement Officer is a professional responsible for connecting job seekers (often students or graduates of an educational institution) with suitable employment opportunities, including internships and full-time positions. They play a critical role in facilitating the transition from education to the workforce and supporting both individuals in their career development and employers in their recruitment efforts.

Key responsibilities

  • Employer Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with employers, industry representatives, and alumni to identify internship and job opportunities.
  • Career Counseling and Guidance: Provide guidance and support to job seekers in developing their career goals, refining job search strategies, and enhancing their employability skills.
  • Job Placement Facilitation: Match candidates with appropriate job openings, coordinate recruitment processes (interviews, assessments), and facilitate the entire placement journey, says Kaplan Community Career Center.
  • Training and Workshops: Organize and conduct workshops and training sessions on resume writing, interview preparation, soft skills development, and other job search related topics.
  • Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of candidate progress, job placements, and employer interactions, generating reports on placement outcomes and trends.
  • Industry Liaison: Act as a bridge between the institution/organization and industry, understanding market trends and aligning training programs accordingly.
  • Event Management: Plan and coordinate campus recruitment drives, job fairs, and networking events to connect job seekers with potential employers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Career Development, or a related field, according to Kaplan Community Career Center.
  • Proven experience (typically 2+ years) in job placement, recruitment, career counseling, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of the job market, labor laws, and recruitment best practices.
  • Proficiency in using job placement software, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and HR software is needed, notes Superworks.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
