Job Description

About The Opportunity

An advanced-technology scale-up operating at the forefront of Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and Semiconductor Engineering. Our hardware division develops full-stack enterprise quantum computers—spanning superconducting processors, cryogenic control electronics, and RF instrumentation—to drive breakthroughs across life sciences, finance, transportation, and space. We are expanding our Bengaluru R&D team with a Quantum Hardware Research Scientist who will lead theoretical modeling and simulation of next-generation qubit architectures.Role & Responsibilities
  • Develop and refine quantum-mechanical models of coupled superconducting qubit systems using Hamiltonian engineering principles.
  • Perform large-scale numerical simulations to characterize circuit QED properties, coherence phenomena, and error-correction performance.
  • Collaborate with device and control-engineering teams to translate models into optimized qubit designs and control schemes.
  • Design and validate experimental protocols for measuring coherence times, gate fidelities, and quantum process tomography.
  • Analyze simulation and experimental data to identify performance bottlenecks and propose targeted improvements.
  • Document methods, results, and recommendations in technical reports and peer-reviewed publications.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have
  • MSc/MTech/PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field with a focus on quantum mechanics or quantum technologies.
  • Deep understanding of Hamiltonian engineering and circuit QED principles in superconducting qubits.
  • Expertise in numerical methods and computational modeling (e.g., finite-element analysis, matrix diagonalization).
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or C++ for simulation development and data analysis.
  • Experience designing DoE-driven experimental protocols and analyzing coherence time, gate fidelity, and tomography measurements.
  • Track record of publications or patents in quantum device research.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with bosonic error-correction codes and autonomous feedback techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with quantum computing frameworks such as Qiskit or Cirq.
  • Background in cryogenic electronics, RF instrumentation, or control system integration.
Benefits & Culture Highlights
  • Collaborative, innovation-driven environment with access to cutting-edge tools and cross-disciplinary expertise.
  • Opportunities for rapid career growth, conference participation, and peer-reviewed publications.
  • Flexible work policies, comprehensive health benefits, and relocation assistance for outstanding candidates.
Skills: quantum computing,qubit-control schemes,semiconductor,quantum-state & process tomography,artificial intelligence,computational modelling of quantum circuits,hamiltonian engineering,python-based quantum platforms,circuit qed,numerical methods,experimental protocols,superconducting-qubit error-correction schemes
