Quality Engineer - Solar Projects (Mumbai/Hyderabad/Noida)

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for Quality Engineers - Solar Projects (3 nos), based in Mumbai/Hyderabad/New Delhi. The Quality Engineer will oversee and ensure the quality of solar installations, including quality engineering, quality control, and quality assurance tasks. Responsibilities will include conducting product quality inspections, manage quality documentation, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Assurance & Control

• Implement and enforce QA/QC procedures for all project phases (civil, mechanical, and electrical).
• Inspect incoming materials such as modules, inverters, mounting structures, and cables for conformity with approved specifications.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections for construction and installation works at solar project sites.
• Verify and ensure calibration of testing equipment and tools.
• Monitor subcontractor quality performance and compliance with approved procedures.

2. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain quality-related records including Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Work Inspection Reports (WIR), and Material Inspection Reports (MIR).
• Prepare and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Corrective Action Reports (CARs), and preventive action documentation.
• Maintain all QA/QC documentation for project handover and audits.
• Generate daily/weekly quality inspection reports and highlight key quality issues to the project team.

3. Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project execution teams for quality compliance.
• Interface with client representatives, consultants, and third-party inspection agencies.
• Participate in internal and external quality audits and ensure closure of audit observations.
• Conduct toolbox talks and quality briefings for site execution teams.

4. Technical Supervision

• Supervise installation quality for PV modules, MMS structures, earthing, cable routing, and electrical terminations.
• Verify field testing results such as insulation resistance, continuity, string testing, and IV curve tracing.
• Ensure civil foundation and structural works meet design specifications and workmanship standards.

5. Standards & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to relevant national and international standards (IS, IEC, IEEE, ASTM, etc.).
• Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement at all project levels.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Mechanical / Civil Engineering (Diploma holders with relevant experience may apply).
• 4–7 years of QA/QC experience in

  Solar EPC Projects

  (Ground-mounted and/or Rooftop).
• Sound knowledge of QA/QC systems, ITPs, and quality documentation.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical installation quality for solar plants.
• Proficiency in MS Office and basic AutoCAD.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills.

Preferred:

• Experience with reputed Solar EPC / IPP companies.
• Certification in ISO 9001 or Quality Management Systems (Lead Auditor or equivalent).
• Familiarity with commissioning quality checks and testing instruments.
• Willingness to travel to project sites across India as required.
