LafargeHolcim Bangladesh PLC. (LHB) is a frontline building material company in Bangladesh, operating for more than two decades. It has one fully integrated cement plant and three grinding plants and it is a joint venture of Holcim and Molins. To support our new mill operation we are looking for competent persons for below position:
SUMMARY OF THE JOB
Health & Safety
- Recognizes and acknowledges safe behavior exhibited by team members

- Follow established sampling and test procedures for trouble shooting of process inefficiencies through evaluation of process samples and their parameters.
- Ensure that process quality parameters are monitored timely and reliably, as per plant quality manual / plan.
- Safe work rules and practices, as defined by company’s safety and health policy, are consistently followed.
- Coordinate and maintain quality control shift lab activities through implementation of Lafarge quality standard.
- Take lead in implementation of Holcim tools and technical information management system to ensure quality of in process materials in line with quality target.

Required Qualifications and Experiences
- Education: B.Sc in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering
- Experience: 08 to 10 years’ experience in Cement Plant of which at least 3 years as a shift chemist.
- Job-Specific Skills: Knowledge of Chemistry & process in cement industry
- Knowledge and experience of quality and process measurements , as applied to cement raw materials , clinker and other blending materials and their impact on performance
- Representing the site during audits and technical meetings
- Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods
- Knowledge over ARM (Alternative Raw Materials) and AF (Alternative Fuel) is required.
- Experience on cost optimization techniques and budgeting operational cost.
- Experience of product development and market analysis.
- Experience of team leading, team management and team player.

MAIN ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide written instructions to establish work methods, to explain the sequence of operations, to outline potential hazards at each stage and to indicate precautions to be adopted.
- Take the overall responsibility of all the H&S actions within function (department) and ensure the required resources are available to support the implementation of all the required actions.
- Create safety awareness by promoting safety meetings and talks, and by encouraging safety training.
- Set a personal example on site by wearing appropriate protective clothing and equipment at all times.
- Ensure that all equipment’s purchased or hired are safe and fully efficient, guarded and equipped with safety devices, and have been subjected to all necessary tests.
- Ensure that operators and attendants are employed only on the equipment they have been thoroughly trained.
- Attend promptly to all equipment defects and advise site management of the need for any dangerous equipment to be taken out of service until properly repaired.
- Planning, monitor, control and document Quality of the supplied Local Clay and limestone, according to the approved targets by the Operations Director.
- Define the set values according to the required raw meal characteristics
- Ensure the necessary resources and define the working tasks based on the daily plan achievement and the list of set targets.
- Planning and manage the implementation of the working tasks regarding resources handling and control the performance of working tasks from the working order.
- Planning and supervise the implementation of the quality control program.
- Prepare the monthly cost report related to cement and related material.
- Prepare the capital, operating and maintenance budgets for the approval of the Operations Director.
- Implement the recommendation of Operations Director for the chemical & physical specifications for purchased raw materials & intermediary materials consistent with the quality plan.
- Assists & Supports organization in hiring & retaining the right candidate for the vacancies that arise in the Quality Team
- Responsible for staff development and coordinate as a focal point between the team and management for various queries/clarifications/information.
