About the Role

The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for driving quality, food safety, and compliance standards across the FMCG grocery retail business. This role ensures that all products—fresh, packaged, and private label—consistently meet regulatory requirements, internal quality benchmarks, and customer expectations.

The position plays a critical role in strengthening audit processes, leading cross-functional quality reviews, and building a high-performing quality assurance team across sourcing, warehousing, distribution, and retail operations.



Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve quality assurance and food safety systems across sourcing, warehousing, distribution centres, and retail stores.
  • Lead and review internal and external audit processes, including supplier audits, warehouse audits, and store audits.
  • Review audit findings, risk assessments, and non-conformities; drive timely closure of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable food safety regulations, statutory requirements, and internal quality standards.
  • Establish and lead regular quality review forums with cross-functional teams including Maintenance, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Operations, Store Teams, Legal, and Marketing.
  • Partner with sourcing and supplier teams to strengthen vendor quality and compliance standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the QA team; define team goals, KPIs, performance metrics, and training plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance food safety, product quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Support expansion initiatives by ensuring quality readiness across new stores, warehouses, and supplier onboarding.


We Hope You Have -


  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control within FMCG, food retail, food manufacturing, or related sectors.
  • Educational background in

    Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Dairy Technology, or a related food discipline

    .
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards, audits, and compliance requirements (FSSAI, HACCP, ISO, etc.).
  • Proven experience in managing internal and external audits and driving CAPA closure.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to root-cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to travel across stores, distribution centres, and supplier locations as required.
