Job Title - Quality Assurance Engineer – Fabrication Industry

Experience - 3–4 Years (Mandatory fabrication industry experience)

Location - Chakan, Wasuli, Pune, Maharashtra 410501

Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for ensuring that fabricated products meet customer specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards. The role involves inspection, documentation, coordination with production, and continuous improvement of quality processes within a fabrication environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures for fabrication activities
• Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and standards (ASME, AWS, ISO, etc.)
• Conduct incoming material inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection
• Monitor welding, cutting, fit-up, and assembly activities for quality compliance
• Verify WPS, PQR, and welder qualifications
• Coordinate and witness NDT activities (RT, UT, MT, PT)
• Prepare and maintain quality documentation, including ITPs, QAPs, MIRs, NCRs, and inspection reports
• Identify non-conformances and ensure root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Liaise with production, engineering, clients, and third-party inspectors
• Support internal and external audits
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and customer quality requirements
• Promote continuous improvement in fabrication quality processes

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of fabrication processes (structural steel, pressure parts, piping, or similar)
• Hands-on experience with inspection tools and measuring instruments
• Understanding of welding codes and standards (ASME, AWS, ISO)
• Experience in NDT coordination
• Good documentation and report-writing skills
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Qualifications

• Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 3–4 years of QA/QC experience in fabrication industry only
• Certification in CSWIP / NDT Level II / ISO Internal Auditor (preferred)

• Fabrication shop and site-based work
