Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly experienced Lead QA Automation Engineer with at least 8 years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing automated test solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Cypress and/or Playwright, proven leadership in QA automation, and a commitment to quality throughout the software development lifecycle. You will provide technical direction, mentor team members, and drive automation strategy for critical projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of test automation strategy, framework design, and implementation using Cypress and/or Playwright.
• Mentor, guide, and lead a team of QA engineers, fostering best practices in automation, code reviews, and continuous improvement.
• Develop comprehensive test plans and cases for functional, regression, and end-to-end scenarios.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.) and ensure smooth, reliable releases.
• Work closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps to triage issues and maintain high-quality software delivery.
• Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of automation frameworks for web, API, and end-to-end testing.
• Ensure efficient defect management, reporting, and root cause analysis.
• Drive adoption of new tools, techniques, and processes to improve product quality and team efficiency.
• Advocate for robust quality standards and champion testing throughout Agile/Scrum workflows.

Required Skills and Experience:

• A minimum of 8 years' professional experience in test automation, including significant hands-on work with Cypress and/or Playwright.
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills; deep understanding of web application architecture.
• Demonstrated ability to architect, design, and enhance scalable automation frameworks.
• Significant experience integrating automated tests within CI/CD environments.
• Hands-on team leadership: coaching, guiding, and fostering growth in QA engineers.
• Experience with REST API testing and defect tracking tools.
• Familiarity with source control systems (Git) and Agile/Scrum development.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Exposure to other automation tools (Selenium, Appium), performance or security testing.
• Previous experience introducing new automation tools or processes.
• BDD frameworks (Cucumber), and awareness of test management solutions.
• Experience with cloud-based test execution or distributed automation environments.
