JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective:

The Associate QA Executive is responsible for performing QA duties on a professional level and works closely with House of Spices Inc., QA, Purchase, Supply Chain and staff in supporting designated geographic regions.

Essential Functions

1. Performs and accurately records quality checks on product and regulatory checks as specified within company programs and USFDA regulations.
2. Responsible for compilation and maintenance of inspection reports and records.
3. Perform product sampling and inspection, following standard methods and procedures (incorporating or developing new procedures as needed).
4. Perform sensory evaluation as and when required following standard methods& procedures.
5. Record, Manage and handle samples in lab as per requirement.
6. Assist FSQA Manager/Executive to monitor processes and analyze data to enable continuous improvement and minimize food safety risk.
7. Assist FSQA Managers/Executive in developing, implementing, auditing, and maintaining all elements of the documented Food Safety and Quality System and are effectively implemented by our suppliers.
8. Preferable candidate- Spices, Commodities (Flour, Rice, Dals), Frozen RTE, Frozen Vegetables, RTE Snacks.
9. Perform Sensory evaluation and reporting
10. Perform routine and non-routine analysis of samples (raw materials, intermediates, and finished products).
11. Operate and maintain lab instruments (Oven, Refractometer, pH meter, Salt tester)
12. Maintain proper records of test results and ensure traceability.
13. Assist in method development and validation.
14. Conduct moisture, ash content, oil content, FFA & PV, pH, Brix, Acidity and other relevant tests as per specifications or ASTA/IS standards.
15. Ensure all analysis is performed as per internal SOPs and regulatory standards (FSSAI, USFDA, etc.).
16. Prepare and standardize reagents and chemical solutions.
17. Follow good laboratory practices (GLP), hygiene, and safety protocols.
18. Calibrate lab instruments and maintain calibration records.

Travel

1. Occasional travel may be required for this job profile.

Required Education and Experience

1. A bachelor’s degree in food science/food technology or equivalent qualification.
2. Knowledge of lab technique of analyzing different food product.
3. Good in MS word ,excel, and power point.
4. Good organoleptic senses for product and sensory evaluation.

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Knowledge of lab technique and prior training in fundamental quality assurance technology.
2. Basic Knowledge of Quality Assurance; GFSI and Regulatory (US FDA); FSMA and other Regulatory standards.
3. Good Technical skills.
4. Good communication skills.
