Job Description

Role Objective:-

To lead and manage the Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) functions to ensure compliance with national and international toy safety standards, maintain product quality, and oversee continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

1. Key Responsibilities:

Quality Control Management

  • Manage daily QC activities across incoming, in-process, and final inspection stages.
  • Ensure quality checks for raw materials, components, and finished products.
  • Oversee testing as per BIS, EN-71, ASTM, and other toy safety standards.
  • Monitor and reduce rejection rates, rework, and quality loss.

Quality Assurance

  • Implement and maintain quality assurance protocols, SOPs, and control plans.
  • Ensure compliance with BIS (ISI Mark), QCO requirements, and internal audits.
  • Maintain documentation for certifications, audits, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive action (CAPA).

Team Leadership

  • Lead and train QC/QA inspectors and technicians.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure discipline within the department.
  • Drive quality culture across production floors.

Customer & Supplier Interaction

  • Address customer complaints and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for quality issues and improvements.
  • Handle third-party audits and customer audits as required.

Process Improvement

  • Identify areas for process optimization and implement lean quality tools.
  • Monitor process capability and improve quality metrics.
  • Work closely with R&D, Production, and Maintenance teams for problem-solving.

Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain quality reports, control charts, and documentation.
  • Present weekly/monthly quality performance to management.
  • Ensure traceability and proper recordkeeping of all quality data.

2. Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of toy manufacturing processes (plastic molding, assembly, paint shop, packaging).
  • Sound understanding of BIS, EN71, and ASTM standards.
  • Experience in handling audits and regulatory compliances.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and team-handling ability.
  • Knowledge of 7 QC tools, RCA, CAPA, and quality systems.

3. Additional Requirements:

  • Must have experience in toys manufacturing industry (mandatory).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet quality targets.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and reporting skills.
