Job Description

The QA/QC Manager in a construction company is responsible for ensuring that all construction projects meet the required quality standards, regulations, and client specifications. The role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring QA/QC plans, auditing construction processes, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. The QA/QC Manager will lead a team of quality inspectors, work closely with project managers, and enforce corrective and preventive actions to ensure the delivery of high-quality construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing Corporate and Project QA/QC Plans:
  • Create and implement quality management plans for both corporate and specific construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure plans are customized to meet project requirements and industry standards.
  • Implementation and Monitoring of QA/QC Plans:
  • Ensure the effective execution of QA/QC plans across all project phases.
  • Monitor compliance with project specifications, design drawings, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify Areas for Improvement:
  • Regularly assess construction processes to identify potential areas for improvement in quality, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Initiate corrective and preventive actions based on audit results and inspections.
  • Develop and Implement Correct Work Methods:
  • Establish and ensure adherence to best practice work methods, procedures, and construction standards.
  • Ensure that all activities, materials, and methods align with contract specifications and safety regulations.
  • Auditing and Monitoring:
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits on-site to assess quality control and identify any non-compliance.
  • Take immediate action to address any quality issues and minimize non-compliance.
  • Training and Certification:
  • Organize training programs for site personnel on quality control procedures, safety standards, and construction best practices.
  • Oversee certification of skilled workers to ensure they meet the required qualifications for project tasks.
  • Maintain QA/QC Documentation:
  • Ensure all quality records, reports, and inspection logs are accurately maintained and compliant with project and regulatory standards.
  • Regularly update documentation in accordance with quality management procedures.
  • Compliance Management:
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with quality standards, legal regulations, and industry norms.
  • Coordinate with regulatory bodies during inspections and ensure adherence to safety and environmental requirements.

Authorities:

  • Implementing Quality Plans:
  • Lead the implementation of the corporate and project quality plans. Initiate corrective and preventive actions as needed to address quality issues on-site.
  • Decision-Making:
  • Make decisions related to QA/QC at construction sites, ensuring project compliance with quality standards.
  • Address quality deviations and implement necessary corrective actions swiftly.
  • Corrective Actions & Continuous Improvement:
  • Oversee the identification and execution of corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues during construction.
  • Lead efforts to continuously improve construction quality through lessons learned and proactive problem-solving.
  • Minimize Non-Compliance:
  • Enforce procedures to minimize non-compliance, ensuring that corrective measures are promptly addressed.
  • Take necessary actions to resolve quality issues quickly and efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Certifications in Quality Management (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma) are preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge of construction standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Familiarity with quality control software and tools.
  • Expertise in conducting audits and inspections in a construction environment.

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make timely decisions and prioritize quality control activities.

Work Conditions:

  • Work Environment: Primarily office-based with occasional site visits to audits and inspections the site related procedure and compliances.
  • Working Hours: Full-time role with flexibility to meet project deadlines. Extended hours may be required during critical issues at site.
  • Travel: Occasional travel to suppliers, subcontractors, and project sites for material inspection.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹700,000.00 per year
