QA Manager

Job Purpose:

• To lead and manage the Quality Assurance & Development function, ensuring that all products and processes in sheet metal fabrication meet customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory compliance. The role focuses on customer satisfaction, process improvement, and supplier quality management.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Quality Management System (QMS):

• Establish, implement, and maintain ISO/IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Conduct internal audits and support third-party/customer audits.
• Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements.

2. Product & Process Quality:

• Develop and implement quality control plans for fabrication processes (laser cutting, bending, welding, painting, assembly).
• Approve PPAP, APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC.
• Monitor in-process inspection, final inspection, and dispatch quality.

3. Customer Quality Management:

• Manage customer complaints with effective CAPA and 8D reports.
• Conduct root cause analysis and ensure preventive action implementation.
• Coordinate customer audits and follow-up actions.

4. Supplier Quality Assurance:

• Develop, evaluate, and audit suppliers for raw materials and components.
• Monitor supplier quality performance and drive continuous improvements.
• Ensure supplier compliance with specifications and standards.

5. Continuous Improvement & Cost Control:

• Drive Kaizen, Lean, Poka-Yoke, and other improvement initiatives.
• Reduce rejection rates, rework percentage, and cost of poor quality (COPQ).
• Introduce defect prevention and error-proofing techniques.

6. Team Leadership & Development:

• Lead and mentor QA/QC engineers, inspectors, and supervisors.
• Provide training on quality tools, standards, and problem-solving methods.
• Define and track team KPIs for performance monitoring.

7. Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain quality documentation as per standards.
• Prepare MIS reports on customer complaints, rejection analysis, and quality trends.
• Present quality performance reports to management.

8. Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and statutory requirements.
• Support EHS practices in fabrication operations.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of ISO/IATF standards and customer-specific requirements.
• Hands-on experience in APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills (8D, Root Cause Analysis, Why-Why, etc.).
• Leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes and quality tools.

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
• 10–15 years of experience in Quality Assurance, preferably in sheet metal fabrication / automotive industry.
