Role Summary

Join our core engineering team to maintain and enhance the computer vision algorithms that power our revolutionary smartphone-based diagnostic platform. You'll work on colorimetric and lateral flow assay processing that enables lab-quality results in just 30 seconds for conditions like UTIs, kidney disease, diabetes, and anemia.

Key ResponsibilitiesCode Maintenance & Development

• Maintain and optimize existing Python codebase for colorimetric test analysis (kidney function, UTI etc)
• Maintain and enhance test processing algorithms for other rapid diagnostics
• Implement improvements to computer vision models to ensure accuracy across different smartphones and lighting conditions
• Develop and deploy ML models for image analysis, color detection, and pattern recognition in diagnostic strips

System Monitoring & Quality Assurance

• Monitor system error codes and identify edge cases in diagnostic processing across diverse user environments
• Implement robust error handling and logging mechanisms to ensure 99.9% reliability for critical health diagnostics
• Analyze system performance metrics and optimize processing pipelines for sub-30-second results
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in production environments serving 100,000+ active users
• Ensure clinical-grade accuracy through continuous validation and testing protocols

Cloud Infrastructure Management

• Deploy and manage applications across AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure
• Maintain Firebase integrations for real-time data processing and instant result delivery
• Optimize cloud resource usage and costs as we scale to 100M annual tests

Required Technical SkillsProgramming & ML

• Python: proficiency with libraries such as OpenCV, scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch
• Computer Vision: Experience with image processing, feature extraction, and object detection
• Machine Learning: Experience with supervised/unsupervised learning, model training and deployment

Core Competencies

• Strong problem-solving skills with experience debugging complex computer vision issues
• Production ML systems experience - you've deployed models
• Experience with large-scale image datasets and handling diverse image conditions
• Statistical analysis and data validation expertise for ensuring diagnostic accuracy
• Startup culture - comfortable with fast-paced environment and wearing multiple hats
