Job Description

As the Lead of Procurement and Supply Chain Operations at Sporting Syndicate, your role will involve managing and overseeing the sourcing of materials and services crucial for the production of sports goods. Your responsibilities will include: - Developing and implementing procurement strategies in line with production and quality objectives. - Establishing and nurturing long-term relationships with reliable suppliers. - Evaluating supplier performance based on quality, delivery, pricing, and compliance. - Identifying and engaging alternate vendors to mitigate supply risks. - Coordinating with production and warehouse teams to forecast material requirements. - Monitoring inventory levels to prevent stockouts or excess stock. - Managing inbound and outbound logistics for raw materials and finished goods. - Ensuring compliance with customs clearance procedures and international sourcing regulations. - Optimizing transportation and distribution costs. - Monitoring purchase budgets and ensuring procurement stays within approved cost limits. - Identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement. - Ensuring compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and statutory requirements. - Maintaining procurement records, contracts, and supplier databases. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams including production, quality, finance, R&D, and design. - Participating in new product development by sourcing suitable materials and vendors. - Evaluating suppliers for raw materials used in sports goods manufacturing. - Issuing purchase orders and monitoring order status for timely delivery. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. - MBA/PG Diploma in Supply Chain or Materials Management preferred. - 5-10 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment. - Experience in sports goods or consumer goods manufacturing is advantageous. - Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor development, and ERP systems. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools. - Understanding of production planning and material requirement planning (MRP). - Excellent negotiation, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. - Leadership qualities and team management capabilities. - Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
