Role Overview:The Purchase Engineer is responsible for sourcing and procuring materials and components for precision manufacturing, focusing on the automobile sector. This role involves evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The Purchase Engineer collaborates with engineering and production teams to align procurement strategies, manage vendor relationships, and optimize costs. Strong technical knowledge, negotiation skills and possess expertise in automobile products along with a strong background in vendor development. This role is crucial in sourcing high-quality materials and components that meet our precision manufacturing standards. Key Responsibilities:Sourcing and Procurement:Identify and evaluate suppliers for automobile components and materials.Conduct market analysis to ensure competitive pricing and quality.Negotiate contracts and purchase agreements to secure optimal terms.Technical Evaluation:Collaborate with engineering and production teams to understand technical specifications and requirements for automobile products.Review product samples and technical documentation to ensure compliance with quality standards.Vendor Development:Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors while identifying new suppliers to enhance the supply chain.Conduct vendor assessments, audits, and performance evaluations to ensure reliability and quality of supply.Cost Management:Monitor and analyze procurement costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.Implement strategies to optimize purchasing processes and minimize lead times.Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier communications.Prepare detailed reports on procurement activities, cost analysis, and supplier performance for management review.Compliance and Quality Assurance:Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and industry standards.Participate in quality audits and supplier evaluations to uphold product integrity.Negotiation Skills: · Proficient in negotiating contracts and pricing to secure the best value for the company.Communication Skills: · Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
