Purchase Manager

Job Summary:

The Purchase Manager will be responsible for managing the procurement of raw materials, components, tools, and services required for sheet metal machinery manufacturing. The role involves vendor development, cost control, negotiation, and ensuring timely availability of quality materials to support smooth production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with production and business goals.
• Source, evaluate, and finalize suppliers for raw materials, sheet metal components, and mechanical parts.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms to achieve cost optimization.
• Maintain vendor relationships and ensure consistent supply quality and reliability.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with stores and production teams for material planning.
• Evaluate supplier performance on quality, cost, and delivery metrics.
• Ensure timely purchase order processing and material delivery to meet production timelines.
• Identify alternative materials, suppliers, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain procurement documentation and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Collaborate with the design, quality, and production departments for technical specifications and approvals.
• Stay updated with market trends, new materials, and technology in the sheet metal industry.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of sheet metal components, fabrication materials, and mechanical parts.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills.
• Proficiency in ERP / SAP systems and MS Office.
• Good understanding of supply chain, logistics, and inventory control.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize effectively.

• On-time material availability for production.
• Procurement cost savings vs. budget.
• Supplier performance improvement.
• Reduction in lead times and inventory carrying costs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
