Job Description

SUMMARY

This is a remote position.

Want to take ownership of Contour’s publishing function, lead a team of team leaders, and make sure our academic resources are published with accuracy, clarity, and speed every week?

At Contour, we are looking for a proactive and people-focused Publishing Lead who thrives on structure, communication, and collaboration. You will oversee the publishing pipeline that includes three key teams: Graphics, Formatting, and Proofreading, and ensure that every deliverable meets Contour’s quality standards.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading through people, maintaining smooth communication, and building systems that keep everything running efficiently.

Who We Are

Contour Education is reshaping what great education looks like at scale. Founded in 2020, we have grown from a handful of students to over 8,000 students and 320+ team members in just a few years, and we are only getting started.

We provide an ecosystem of support that includes weekly small-group tutoring, one-on-one personal guidance, and a comprehensive online learning portal filled with resources and workshops. Our students consistently achieve exceptional results in school assessments, selective entry exams, and university preparation.

Behind the scenes, we operate on lean systems, automation, and strong cross-team collaboration that allow us to scale fast while maintaining premium quality.

What You’ll Do

You will be at the center of Contour’s publishing operations, ensuring that all publishing teams work in sync and deliver with precision.

  • Define and lead Contour’s publishing strategy setting weekly and monthly KPIs for teams, monitoring throughput, and driving continuous improvement.

  • Lead and mentor three publishing team leaders, providing clarity, direction, and accountability across Graphics, Formatting, and Proofreading teams.

  • Oversee a total team of around 30 40 publishing specialists, ensuring consistent performance and communication across all functions.

  • Manage end-to-end publishing operations, including scheduling, quality checks, and final delivery of academic resources.

  • Coordinate with teams across time zones, ensuring smooth alignment between India-based teams and Contour’s Australia operations.

  • Identify process gaps, track performance trends, and implement system-level improvements to make publishing faster, more accurate, and more scalable.

  • Foster a culture of clarity and ownership by guiding team leads on planning, communication, and people management.

Why Join Us

  • The stability of a proven startup with room for growth and learning.

  • A hands-on leadership scope where you may occasionally step in to fix a workflow block or support a proofread when needed, while also managing strategy, KPIs, and team growth.

  • The flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in India while collaborating closely with Melbourne-based leadership and aligning across India and Australia publishing teams.

  • A culture that values metrics, automation, lean operations, and clear communication.
