Proposal Engineer

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Proposal Development: Prepare, review, and deliver high-quality technical and commercial proposals, ensuring compliance with client specifications, tender requirements, and company standards.
- Client Requirement Analysis: Study client RFQs, RFPs, and tender documents to interpret project scope, specifications, and deliverables.
- Cost Estimation & Pricing: Develop detailed cost estimates, including material, labor, subcontracting, and overhead costs. Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams for accurate pricing.
- Technical Documentation: Create proposal documents, technical write-ups, datasheets, and solution descriptions tailored to client needs.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering, operations, and sales teams to gather relevant inputs and align proposals with organizational capabilities.
- Compliance & Risk Review: Ensure proposals meet legal, commercial, and technical compliance requirements. Highlight risks, assumptions, and exclusions clearly in submissions.
- Client Interaction: Support pre-bid and post-bid discussions with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders to clarify technical queries and commercial terms.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to improving proposal templates, processes, and knowledge databases for efficiency and consistency.
- Market & Competitor Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor pricing, and client preferences to prepare competitive proposals.
Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related discipline). A master's degree or MBA is a plus.
- Experience: 3-6 years of proven experience as a Proposal Engineer, Estimation Engineer, or in a similar role within engineering, construction, EPC, or manufacturing industries.
- Strong knowledge of project estimation, costing, and proposal management practices.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
- Hands-on experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and proposal management software/tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear, concise, and persuasive proposals.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple proposals simultaneously.
