Established in 1993, WOTR is an NGO, known for its outstanding contribution in the

development field focusing primarily on climate change, watershed development, capacity

building of village groups and NGOs for participatory watershed development work, climate

change adaption practices, training and extension, women’s empowerment and micro credit,

poverty reduction, etc. WOTR has successfully undertaken responsibilities as implementing

agency, support agency, service provider for different national and international projects.

Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Karnataka and Rajasthan. Our head office is in

Pune.


Job profile/ Scope of Work:

Project Planning & Implementation:

  • Lead a team of 5-6 members in the cluster, ensuring all project activities are executed as per plan.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals and assist the regional team in strategizing for the cluster.
  • Conduct meetings with village communities, Panchayat Raj Institution Representatives, SHG members, farmers & groups, Village Organizations (VO), and Village Development
  • Committee (VDC) members to communicate project objectives.

  • Facilitate communication of tools and methodologies prepared by WOTR at the village level.
  • Assist NGOs, SHGs, and communities in social mobilization and organizational development.
  • Support agricultural activities in the project area and provide assistance to Village SHGs (VSHGs) in implementing sustainable agricultural practices.
  • Conduct training sessions on agriculture, social development, women empowerment, child growth monitoring, life skills, and gender issues.

3. Team Leadership Coordination:

  • Lead, supervise, and provide guidance to the project team members.
  • Foster team collaboration and ensure effective communication and coordination among all project staff and stakeholders.
  • Ensure the team follows project timelines, objectives, and deliverables.

4. Monitoring Reporting:

  • Prepare physical and financial progress reports, highlighting project achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Support research and data collection for impact assessments, case studies, and documentation.
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of project activities, and review the progress regularly.
  • Regularly attend Gram Sabha, farmer group meetings, and other relevant community forums to update and involve stakeholders.

5. Stakeholder Liaison Linkage Building:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with government line departments, local authorities, and key stakeholders for project development and support.
  • Build linkages between the government and community-based organizations to ensure long-term sustainability and development in the project area.

6. Social Operations Advocacy:

  • Ensure the implementation of social operations related to project goals, especially focusing on women’s empowerment and gender equality.
  • Advocate for the issues of women, children, and marginalized communities, ensuring their active participation in project activities.

Other Duties:

  • Undertake any additional tasks as assigned by the organization to support the project’s success.
  • Required Qualifications Skills:
  • Education: A degree in Social Work, Rural Development, Agriculture, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in community development, project management, or related fields. Experience in working with rural communities, NGOs, and government bodies is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with government departments, local communities, and project stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of sustainable agricultural practices and social development principles.
  • Experience in organizing and conducting training and capacity-building programs.
  • Strong monitoring, reporting, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with child growth monitoring, life skills training, and gender- related issues.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other project management tools.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years relevant field experience
  • Candidate should have a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) / Master s degree in Arts (MA) in rural development/rural management
  • Knowledge of Local Language and Hindi preferred.
  • Experience in development sector would be added advantage.
